First Presbyterian Church located at 2936 Rockefeller in the heart of downtown Everett, is the spiritual home for people just like you from all of south Snohomish County. We are a caring congregation located in a downtown church adjacent to county offices and courts as well as city offices and a jail. We have a long history of action to promote social justice including helping establish Housing Hope and The Interfaith Shelter. We currently express our concern for the disadvantaged by providing a dinner each Wednesday. We also provide toiletries and household cleaning items that cannot be purchased with Food Stamps. An associate from another church brings a mobile shower each week. Come join us for Sunday Morning Worship Service at 10:00am in the sanctuary. You may also join us every Sunday at 8:02 am on KRKO AM 1380.
Food Bank Sunday
The first Sunday of the month is food bank Sunday. Our tradition is to bring non-perishable foods to church on Communion Sunday for the food bank to share with those in need. Food items can be placed in one of the baskets outside the sanctuary or dropped off anytime at the basket in the office. Monetary contributions (checks or cash placed in pew envelopes marked Food Bank) are also welcome. Checks and cash help to provide fruits, vegetables and other perishable items. Toiletry items may also be brought at this time for our Toiletries with Dignity program.
We partner financially as well as with time and talent with Housing Hope, Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County, Volunteers of America Food Bank, Narcotics Anonymous and others. We host and provide leadership for National Alliance of Mental Illness classes for parents and guardians of mentally ill children.
Our hope is that this project would change points of view of some members to be more understanding and supportive of our efforts. It would spur us to find new ways of service. It would develop new advocates and reinvigorate others to take firm stands in our community to reduce or eliminate family homelessness.
