  • 2 x 330ml btl pear cider
  • 750ml btl light red wine, such as pinot noir
  • 1/2 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup (75g) caster sugar
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks or quills
  • Pinch of ground allspice
  • 1/2 small Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced crossways
  • 1/2 small Pink Lady apple,
    thinly sliced crossways


  • Step 1
    Combine the cider, wine, orange, sugar, cloves, cinnamon and allspice in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 mins or until the sugar dissolves. Add the combined apple and cook for 5 mins or until heated through.

    Divide evenly among heatproof serving glasses. Serve immediately.
