Faith and Values in the Public Square at Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry (STM) is a concentrated three-year initiative to expand leadership in establishing interreligious relationships and understandings. This initiative is part of Seattle University’s longstanding commitment to prepare leaders for a just and humane world. The project is funded by the Henry Luce Foundation, the Shemanski Testamentary Trust, the Arthur Vining Davis Foundation, and generous private donors.
Interreligious understanding is clearly one of the defining concerns of the 21st Century. STM’s commitment to ecumenism and multiculturalism has naturally grown to embrace interreligious understanding as part of its institutional commitments. STM is focused on the formation of Christian leaders in a religiously pluralistic world and is responding to the changing religious landscape of this region, nation and world.
Faith and Values in the Public Square is dedicated to building awareness around ecumenical and interreligious excellence taking place throughout the region, nation and world. It is a tool for new leaders; a platform for collaboration; and a network to respond to the religious realities today.
