  • 2 cups, firmly packed fresh basil leaves
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 55g (1/3 cup) pine nuts, toasted
  • 125ml (1/2 cup) extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons nutritional yeast (see note)


  • Step 1
    Process the basil, garlic and 45g (1/4 cup) of the pine nuts in a food processor until finely chopped. With the motor running, add the oil in a slow, steady stream and process until smooth. Transfer to a bowl. Stir in the nutritional yeast and remaining pine nuts. Season.
