Ingredients

5 black tea bags

1L (4 cups) boiling water

55g (1/4 cup) caster sugar

2 large Beurre Bosc pears, peeled, cored, cut into 8 wedges

Pouring cream or vanilla custard, to serve
Method

Step 1Place the tea bags in a large heatproof jug. Add the boiling water and set aside for 3 minutes to infuse. Remove the tea bags and discard. Add the sugar to the jug and stir to dissolve.

Step 2Pour the tea mixture into a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the pear and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for 20 minutes or until pear is tender. Set aside to cool.

Step 3Use a slotted spoon to carefully transfer the pear to serving bowls. Pour over some of the syrup. Serve with cream or custard.
